Your book is chock full of good insights, wisdom, scholarship and research. For those who want fresh, mature, imaginative perspective! For those who are brand new to study and application of God’s Word of truth in their lives, as well as those who, like myself, are in their fifth decade of such study. These silhouettes, or cameos of the men and women of Yahue, the Eternal Father, many of whom had an encounter with the preincarnate Messiah, are so multidimensional, in depth, life changing. Jenifer Mahler digs deep into their character before and after their encounters with the God of creation and re-creation. This insightful study will help us with our ongoing transformation into the image of Christ, as we behold Him in these manifold representations. May we all reflect His glory, as we journey from glory to glory! Shalom from Bro James

This is a powerful book, the result of a lifetime of reflection and scholarship. Jennifer uses several key figures in history to identify the sources of their Authority and explains how their lives show Our Lord’s power working through them. The chapters are discrete so you can contemplate each seperately and at your convenience, but the common theme stretches across the entire work giving a sense of unity and order to the whole.

Full disclosure: Jenifer is my cousin and gave me the book to read. I received no other inducement or compensation for this review. I don’t need one. This is a good book, you should read it.

Silhouettes of Authority is a GOOD book! About 20 years ago my husband and I had the honor to study under Arthur Burk when we attended Rock City Church in Baltimore. He and some of his colleagues gave in-depth teachings about the redemptive gifts in Romans 12. So I was delighted to see those teachings incorporated in Silhouettes of Authority. Jenifer takes the principles about the redemptive gifts and brings them to life through Biblical examples of people who exhibit them and the spiritual authority that accompanies them–authority which brings the Kingdom of God to earth. Silhouettes is almost a devotional-style book, in that the chapters are short and give teaching, application, and a prayer based on the Bible story which is the backdrop of the chapter. It describes the relationships involved with authority: God, family, civil government, and Christian life. Tucked inside are gems like the meaning of Hebrew names and places, poems, songs, quotations, even a script, a a “Tweeter” news feed, and other uniquely creative styles of presenting the truths about using our spiritual authority. You will certainly not be bored! When you’re done, you will have a clearer understanding of authority. You will have a better perspective on the redemptive gifts. You will appreciate the importance of the spoken word. And you will probably want to read the book again!

This is an insightful book into many key figures of the Bible. No matter how many times you have read the Bible or studied these characters, you will gain greater insight into these men and women of God. You will also learn how to wield the sword of Authority that God has for you . Jennifer’s creativity paints a different approach to each narrative, including poetry, song and drama as she recreates it’s Bible story. Easy to read, but rich in depth, this book will not disappoint. Perfect for a Bible study. Thank you, Jenninfer for sharing your insights.

As an intercessor, it is important to know God’s truth, to pray correctly and effectively instead of battling the air. Prayer warriors need to know, understand and exercise their God-given authority. Many books have been written about God’s authority given to His Church and some (books) are too complicated to understand, much less digest and apply. Jenifer Mahler’s simple approach of using events in scriptures to explain God’s authority is clear and powerful. She is obviously gifted in intellect and has presented in depth research for her writings, quotes, and references. Her creativity is throughout the pages in her poems, tweet, and in many other aspects. Jenifer’s Spiritual maturity is evident in her prayers after each chapter, which are imperative to receiving God’s gifts and functioning in His authority. The insight to Redemptive Gifts, identifying those gifts in each Silhouette and how they walked in it, gives us a better understanding of these gifts. Last but not least are the questionnaires of the three Missionaries, along with the testimonies by Jenifer from her amazing personal experiences and Carolyn Figlioli’s story, each one giving inspiration and examples of God’s authority available to us TODAY. He equips His Saint, but we have to use what He gives us. He provides, we proceed in power!
This is neither an information book nor a history book to read once and put on the shelf. It is a handbook to be referred to frequently and used in times of prayer and intercession.
Thank you, Jenifer for this labor of love and all you put into it. Blessings to you! It is a Spiritual investment. May it reap 100 fold to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ!

The silhouettes of these heroes of faith kept my attention and keep my heart more receptive to how Holy Spirit is working in me. The giftings of each easy-to-read hero are clear to understand, and the narrative is sometimes in the form of theatre script….I really liked that. I especially was impacted by the Daniel silhouette and the gift of using his authority over predators. It came the day before I was unwillingly and possibly exposed to poison ivy in the blackberry vines. Immediately I ‘took authority’ over such a weak predator (compared to my GOD) and had zero ill impact. Useful is an understatement when I describe this book. Although my circumstances may not mirror those of the heroes written about in Silhouettes, the human-ness of their stories and the way their walking in their God-given gift is portrayed has helped me identify new areas where I can indeed live and walk in God’s authority. This is a book that I’ve purchased several copies of because I know that wherever copies of this book land, lives will be changed. Thank you Jenifer Mahler for writing this book and sharing its truths. Grateful for your triumphant heart and your desire to see others have the same.

Silhouettes of Authority is a creatively written book of teachings with a common thread running through each chapter/story. That thread is relationship/intimacy. Each character named operated in God’s authority only after developing a relationship/intimacy with Father God. This book is a good read to be reminded of who we are because of Jesus and many of the promises that assure us of God’s love for us, the authority He has given us, and His royalty that we share. There is also new insight to be gained concerning God’s authority and His desire to know us intimately. Don’t skip the intro; there is valuable teaching even in the intro.

I read the book in 1 and 1/2 days. I loved it for it brought me closer to God.
